Coffee vs Matcha...
Hey! My name is Nic Tomkins and I have worked in the health and wellness industry for the past 20 years where matcha has been part of my healthy lifestyle routine for quite some time. Being fully aware of all the benefits matcha has to offer I have been using it to replace my pre gym morning coffee and to beat the afternoon slump. Before drinking matcha I was drinking coffee but found it left me jittery and the caffeine sometimes disturbed my sleep at night. I was also popping breath mints before my clients arrived for their appointments too! One day I decided to try matcha instead of coffee and since then I have never looked back. It does exactly what I need it to. It keeps me focussed during my workouts, doesn't disturb my sleep at night and has all the benefits of natural plant compounds too.
The taste...
Why weren't more people drinking matcha? It seemed to me that a lot of people wanted to enjoy the benefits of drinking matcha but didn't necessarily like the taste. I decided I wanted to change that! I wanted to spread the word and get people converted to matcha shots before their workouts and enjoying matcha as part of their daily routine. I also wanted other existing matcha lovers to enjoy something different. With plain matcha available in what seemed every other store - I started dreaming up matcha flavours!
It was during lockdown that I seized the opportunity to make my idea come to life. I realised I had the time to do my research and find the resources to start Fit Matcha. Taste testing was the fun (but messy) bit! Think bright green matcha all over the place, cups and glasses filled with the green stuff and you'll be half way there! Being a perfectionist at heart I wanted to get the flavour just right and wouldn't have continued with my idea if it wasn't perfect. I spent long days sitting in a rented 'Spaces' office where I designed the logo and branding, sourced amazing matcha, built the website and started social media accounts.
Everything had all finally came together early 2023 and good friends gave me the courage to launch the brand.
The future?
The future of Fit Matcha will include flavours, flavours, flavours! If you have any flavour suggestions you'd like to see please let me know in the comments section!
